Product Information
Cellulose acetate is a polymer that is used in the production of film, membranes, and fibers. Cellulose acetate is made from cellulose, which is derived from plant sources such as wood pulp, cotton linters, and bagasse. Cellulose acetate has been shown to have optical properties that are similar to those of crystalline cellulose. It has been studied extensively in vitro with human serum and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) as well as metal ions such as nitrate, chloride, and bromide. Cellulose acetate has also been shown to be effective against cancer cells in laboratory studies with l-glutamic acid or picolinic acid.
