Product Information
Ethyl-piperidin-4-yl-amine (EPI) is a small molecule that is structurally related to the endogenous neuropeptide, substance P. EPI has been shown to induce apoptosis in cancer cells, which is independent of caspase activation. This anticancer activity may be due to its ability to inhibit the expression of the Mcl-1 protein, which regulates apoptosis and cell proliferation. EPI induces epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) activation and autophagy, leading to increased epidermal growth and inhibition of hypertrophy. It is also an inhibitor of tumor necrosis factor protein (TNFα), which can lead to tumor regression.
