1-Methylpiperazine-2,6-dione is a dopamine agonist that has been shown to have supersensitivity. It has been used in experiments with postnatal rats to study locomotor activity and activity test, which are indicative of central nervous system function. 1-Methylpiperazine-2,6-dione also has hypokinesia effects in animals, which can be exacerbated by quinpirole. 1-Methylpiperazine-2,6-dione is not effective in control mice.
