Product Information

Name:
Flumiclorac-pentyl-d11
Description:

Flumiclorac-pentyl-d11 is a chemical used to identify the presence of carbonyl groups in organic compounds. This chemical contains a diphenyl ether and fatty acid group that are both reactive carbonyls. Flumiclorac-pentyl-d11 is used as an herbicide, and has been shown to inhibit mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase activity in bacterial strains. It also inhibits drug transport across the cellular membrane by binding to plasma protein carriers. Flumiclorac-pentyl-d11 is known to cause congestive heart failure in humans at high doses, although it is not known how this occurs. Clinical studies found that flumiclorac-pentyl-d11 causes an increase in the levels of human proteins related to the cardiovascular system, including cardiac troponin T and brain natriuretic peptide.
