Description:

Poly(trimethylsilyl)propyne is a novel experimental material that has been shown to be efficient for the separation of water vapor from air. It is a polymer with a high permeability and selectivity, which can be used as a contactor, permeation membrane, or coating. Poly(trimethylsilyl)propyne has a low diffusivity and good mechanical properties. This material can be used in two regimes: permeation or diffusion. The mechanisms of this polymer are not yet fully understood. Poly(trimethylsilyl)propyne is being studied by focusing on the transition of polymers from being crystalline to amorphous.
