Description:
2-(6-Methoxynaphthalen-1-yl)acetic acid is an anti-inflammatory agent. It has been shown to inhibit the production of inflammatory mediators, such as prostaglandin E2 and leukotriene B4, by inhibiting cyclooxygenase and lipoxygenase enzymes. This drug also has a potent anti-inflammatory effect in experimental animals. 2-(6-Methoxynaphthalen-1-yl)acetic acid is active against acute inflammation, but its efficacy in chronic inflammation remains to be determined.
