Product Information
4-Chloro-2-[(1E)-(hydroxyimino)methyl]phenol, also referred to as 4-chloro-2-(hydroxymethyl)phenol (CHMP), is an inorganic, nucleophilic reagent that is used for the production of aldoximes. The compound has been shown to catalyze the hydrogen sulfate formation from salicylaldoxime and chloride. The ligand properties of CHMP have been studied using crystallographic data and it was found that the compound binds with an acidic substrate. 4-Chloro-2-[(1E)-(hydroxyimino)methyl]phenol is commonly used for environmental monitoring because it reacts with ozone and nitric oxide to form chlorinated organic compounds.
