Product Information
4-(Chloromethyl)-3-methylpyridine (4CMP) is a reversible, noncompetitive inhibitor of the dopamine transporter. It has been shown to have high affinity for the dopamine transporter, and thereby inhibit uptake of dopamine. This drug inhibits binding of dopamine to synaptic receptors, which may result in neuropsychiatric disorders. 4CMP is taken up by the brain and is used as a radiotracer to measure the rate at which drugs are taken up by the brain. This drug also has potential to be used as a cognitive enhancer or an antidepressant.
