1-Isopropyl-piperazine hydrochloride is a quinoline derivative that inhibits the enzyme phosphodiesterase (PDE). It has been shown to be a potent inhibitor of PDE in vitro and in vivo, with IC50 values of 0.5 microM and 1.5 microM, respectively. This compound also has antimicrobial activity against gram-positive bacteria such as methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus and Mycobacterium tuberculosis. The inhibitory effect on amines may be due to its acidic pH profile, which is between 3.0 and 4.0. This chemical has potent inhibitory activity against biphenyls, which are responsible for the inflammatory response in mammals.!--
