Product Information
Chloroacetylphenol (CAP) is a phenolic compound that is produced by Pyrococcus furiosus. It has been shown to inhibit the synthesis of proteins in cancer cells, leading to cell death. CAP is also able to bind to extracellular antigens on the surface of cancer cells and block their function. This binding prevents cancer cells from releasing growth factors and chemokines, which are important for tumor cell growth and metastasis. Chloroacetylphenol can be conjugated with an antibody or other functional group to target specific tissues or cells for destruction. The amino acid sequence of chloroacetylphenol has been determined, as well as its chemical structure and functional groups.
