4-Chloro-1-methyl-1H-indazole is an antagonist of the TRPV1 receptor. It is a benzyl derivative that has been shown to be a potent and selective antagonist of the TRPV1 receptor in vitro. 4-Chloro-1-methyl-1H-indazole binds to the TRPV1 receptor with high affinity and inhibits its activity. This leads to a decrease in the release of proinflammatory cytokines, such as IL6, TNFα, and IL8. 4-Chloro-1-methyl-1H-indazole also suppresses inflammation by inhibiting the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and nitric oxide (NO).
