Product Information
2,7-Bis(bromomethyl)-9,9-dihexyl-9H-fluorene is a molecule used in cancer research. It has been shown to have anticancer activity. 2,7-Bis(bromomethyl)-9,9-dihexyl-9H-fluorene can be used for fluorescence techniques that are sensitive to the presence of benzyl groups and for the study of cancer cells. The molecular structure of this molecule has been determined by X-ray crystallography and nmr spectroscopy. This molecule is excited by light at 365 nm, which leads to photoexcited fluorescence emission at 465 nm. The fluorescence technique can be used to measure the energy transfer from a donor fluorescent dye with a long lifetime (e.g., Rose Bengal) to a nearby acceptor dye (e.g., Rhodamine 123).
