Description:

1-Butylpyridinium Bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide is a chemical compound. It is a colorless liquid that has been shown to react with acetonitrile, transferring the trifluoromethanesulfonyl group from butylpyridinium to acetonitrile. This reaction system has been studied in detail and mathematical models have been developed for its interaction. 1-Butylpyridinium Bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide has not shown any toxicity in animal studies and it is soluble in water. The solubility of 1-butylpyridinium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide can be increased by adding solvents such as methanol or ethanol. It also shows good thermal stability up to 300°C and a viscosity of 2200 cP at room temperature
