Product Information
6-(3,3-Dimethyl-3,4-dihydro-isoquinolin-1-ylamino)-hexanoic acid is a hexanoic acid derivative that inhibits the activity of dipeptidyl peptidase IV (DPPIV). It is a natural compound that can be found in plants such as coffee. 6-(3,3-Dimethyl-3,4-dihydro-isoquinolin-1-ylamino)-hexanoic acid has been shown to inhibit DPPIV and thus increase the levels of insulin. This compound also inhibits DPPIV in human serum by binding to it and preventing it from cleaving the N terminus of dipeptides such as proinsulin. This inhibition leads to an increase in plasma proinsulin concentrations and reduced insulin clearance. The optimum concentration for this compound is between 0.5 mM and 2 mM.
