2,3-O-Isopropylidene-1-O-methyl-D-ribosic acid is a synthetic glycosylate that can be used to modify saccharides and oligosaccharides. It is a methylated form of ribose and has been shown to inhibit the glycosylation reactions of glycogen. 2,3-O-Isopropylidene-1-O-methyl-D-ribosic acid is also known to react with fluorine in order to produce a variety of fluorinated carbohydrates.
