4-Amino-1-methyl-cyclohexanol hydrochloride is a Grignard reagent that is used to synthesize amines. It can be prepared by the reaction of an alkyl halide with magnesium metal in the presence of dry ether as a solvent. 4-Amino-1-methylcyclohexanol hydrochloride is an isomer of 4-amino-1,4-dimethylcyclohexane carboxylic acid and has substituents on its methyl group. The molecule has hydrogen bonds with the bromine atom, which is bonded to the chlorine atom. This compound's structure was determined using x-ray crystallography.
