Product Information
2-Amino-N-(3-chloro-2-methylphenyl)acetamide is a fluorescent dye that is used as a sensor for damaged DNA. It reacts with the free radicals produced by radiation and other sources of cellular damage to produce an exciplex in the visible range. The exciplex emits light when it interacts with a second molecule, such as another dye or a quencher. This light can be detected using optical devices, allowing for monitoring of DNA damage over time. 2-Amino-N-(3-chloro-2-methylphenyl)acetamide can also be used to monitor parameters such as cellular growth and protein synthesis.
2-Amino-N-(3-chloro-2-methylphenyl)acetamide has been shown to be effective at detecting translation and transcription activity in bacteria, viruses, plants, and yeast cells.
