Description:
Methyl 5-O-(tert-butyldiphenylsilyl)-2-deoxy-b-D-ribofuranoside is a modified sugar that is used in the synthesis of oligosaccharides. This compound has been shown to be easily synthesized from 2,3,4,6-tetraacetylbenzoyl chloride and methyl 5-hydroxyisophthalate. Methyl 5-O-(tert-butyldiphenylsilyl)-2-deoxy-b-D-ribofuranoside is not found in nature and can be used as a precursor for glycosylation reactions.
