Product Information
Ethyl 3-nitro-4-(propylamino)benzoate is a nitro compound that has been shown to bind to cisplatin, which inhibits the growth of cancer cells. It also binds to the imidazole ring in the enzyme dihydrofolate reductase and prevents it from catalyzing the conversion of dihydrofolate to tetrahydrofolate. This product has been shown to be effective against cancer cells and is currently being studied for its potential as a therapeutic agent for prostate cancer. Ethyl 3-nitro-4-(propylamino)benzoate is synthesized by reacting ethyl 4-(aminomethyl)benzoate with hydrogen dithionite in methanol, followed by recrystallization in formamide.
