Product Information

Name:
Histone Deacetylase Inhibitor VII, 106
Description:

HDAC inhibitor VII, 106 is a molecule that inhibits histone deacetylase enzymes and has been shown to be an effective anticancer agent. HDAC inhibitors have been shown to inhibit the production of matrix metalloproteinases in human immunodeficiency virus-1 (HIV-1) infected cells and reduce locomotor activity in rats. It also has dose-dependent effects on cerebellar granule neurons.
HDAC inhibitors are potent inhibitors of HDACs I, II, IV, VI, VIII, IX and X. They bind to the zinc atom at the active site of these enzymes and prevent them from deacetylating other proteins. This inhibition disrupts transcriptional regulation and leads to cell death.
