Product Information
1-Methyl-3-(trifluoromethyl)-1H-pyrazole-4-carboxamide (MTPC) is a chiral compound that inhibits the activity of dehydrogenases and is used as an agrochemical. MTPC has been shown to induce apoptosis in organisms by damaging mitochondria. MTPC was found to be more effective at inducing apoptosis in Botrytis cinerea than other fungi, but less effective in Arabidopsis thaliana. The mechanism of MTPC's effects on mitochondria is not yet fully understood, but it may be due to its ability to inhibit succinate dehydrogenase.
