It can be used as a glycosylation agent, as well as a methylating and click modification agent. 1-O-Propargyl 2, 3, 4, 6- tetra-O-acetyl -D -fructofuranose has been shown to have antiinflammatory properties in addition to its ability to inhibit the growth of bacteria and fungi. This compound can also be used for the synthesis of polysaccharides and oligosaccharides.
