- 1H-Pyrazole-4-carbonitrile, 5-amino-3-methyl-1-(2,4,6-trichlorophenyl)-
5-Amino-3-methyl-1-(2,4,6-trichlorophenyl)-1hpyrazole-4-carbonitrile (5AMC) is a nucleophilic compound that can be synthesized by reacting chloroform with ammonia and methylamine in the presence of aluminum chloride. 5AMC reacts with chlorine to produce a hydrochloride salt. This compound has been studied in animals as an inhibitor of lysosomal acid lipase. It is also used as a precursor for the synthesis of other pharmaceuticals such as 3,5-dimethylbenzpyrazolone. The tautomeric forms of 5AMC are 1-(2,4,6-trichlorophenyl)-3-[methyl(hydroxyimino)methyl]pyridinium hydroxide and 1-(2,4,6-trichlorophenyl)-3-[(methylimino)methyl
