2,3,4,6-Tetra-O-acetyl-b-D-glucopyranosyl chloride is a fluorescent probe for nuclei and quadrupole resonance spectroscopy. It has been used to study the nuclear quadrupole resonance of anions in aqueous solution. The fluorescence intensity of 2,3,4,6-Tetra-O-acetyl-b-D-glucopyranosyl chloride is proportional to the concentration of anions in water. Fluorescence properties were evaluated by measuring the emission spectrum at various excitation wavelengths. The absorption spectrum was also measured to determine the fluorescence quantum yield and fluorescence lifetime.
