Description

3,4,6-Tri-O-acetyl-D-galactal is a versatile building block used for the synthesis of mono- and oligosaccharides. The galactal double bond affords a ready means through which to introduce new functionality or introduce deoxy positions at the C1 and C2 positions to afford functionalised monosaccharides and also allows galactals to be used as glycosylation donors.
