Product Information
N-(4-Amino-2,5-dimethoxyphenyl)furan-2-carboxamide (NADF) is a potential drug target for the treatment of infectious diseases. NADF has been shown to inhibit bacterial growth and promote autophagy in vitro. NADF also inhibits the signal pathways that are responsible for chronic pain due to diabetic neuropathy. NADF's inhibitory effects on bacterial growth are not limited to Gram-positive bacteria but also include Gram-negative bacteria, including strains of E. coli, S. typhimurium, H. influenzae, P. aeruginosa, and A. baumannii
NADF is an antioxidant with significant cytotoxic properties against cancer cells in vitro, as well as protocatechuic acid which has been shown to have antioxidative properties in vivo and may be responsible for some of NADF's biological activities.
