Cis-(2-amino-2-methyl-cyclopentyl)-methanol hydrochloride (CAM) is a small molecule that has been shown to be effective in the treatment of breast cancer. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of cancer cells by targeting thiamine metabolism and inducing apoptosis through the cell factor pathway. CAM also possesses some activity against solid tumours, including brain tumours, and is currently being evaluated as a potential anticancer drug for humans.
