Product Information
- 3'-Amino-3'-deoxy-D-guanosine9-(3-Amino-3-deoxy-b-D-ribofuranosyl)guanine
3'-Amino-3'-deoxyguanosine is a nucleoside that is used in the synthesis of DNA. It is an intermediate in the synthesis of uridine and guanosine, which are both pyrimidine nucleosides. 3'-Amino-3'-deoxyguanosine can be synthesized by regiospecifically reacting uridine with ammonia and formaldehyde to produce the amino group at C-5. The guanine moiety is then introduced by protonation of the amino group followed by cyclization to form a bicyclic compound. This compound can be activated by metal ions and then react with water to release ammonia and formaldehyde, thereby producing 3'-amino-3'-deoxyguanosine. 3'-Amino-3'-deoxyguanosine has been shown to bind to metal ions on its active site, which may explain its affinity for these metals.
