3'-Amino-N6-benzoyl-2',3'-dideoxy-5'-O-DMT-adenosine is a modified nucleoside. This compound is synthesized by replacing the 3'-OH group in adenosine with a 3'-amino group, and the 2',3'-dideoxyribose moiety with a 2',3'-dideoxythymidine moiety. Adenosine can be used to inhibit viral RNA synthesis, and it has been shown to have anticancer effects against certain human tumor cells. It has also been shown to be an effective inhibitor of HIV reverse transcriptase, as well as being an antiviral agent.
