3'-Amino-2',3'-dideoxy-5'-O-DMT-N2-isobutyrylguanosine is a novel nucleoside analogue that is phosphorylated to 3'-Amino-2',3'-dideoxy-5'-O-DMT-N2,5'-O-(4,4'-dimethoxytrityl)-guanosine. This product has antiviral activity against the human rotavirus and herpes simplex virus, and anticancer activity against animal sarcoma cells. It can be used as an intermediate for the synthesis of modified ribonucleosides and deoxyribonucleosides. 3 ' -Amino-2',3 ' -dideoxy-5 ' -O-DMT--N2--isobutyrylguanosine is also a precursor to 5 ' -O-(4,4' -dimethoxytrityl)
