Product Information
- 4-chloro-6-methoxy-N,N-dimethylpyrimidin-2-amine
4-Chloro-6-methoxy-N,N-dimethylpyrimidin-2-amine is a pyrimidine derivative that has been shown to be active against the fungi Candida glabrata and E. coli. This drug has also been found to be effective in inhibiting the growth of bacteria such as pyogenes and Staphylococcus aureus. 4-Chloro-6-methoxy-N,N-dimethylpyrimidin-2-amine is an antifungal agent that inhibits microbial growth by binding to the cell wall diazenyl group of microbial cells. It can also inhibit protein synthesis through inhibition of cross coupling reactions involving amino acids such as serine and cysteine. 4CMDMP is used in pharmaceuticals as a fungicide or bactericide in the form of its sodium salt, which is soluble in water and reacts with acid to release chlorine gas.
