3-Phenyl-1H-indazole is a compound that belongs to the class of organometallic compounds. It has been shown in vitro to have potent activity against chronic lymphocytic leukemia and cancer cells in human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) patients. 3-Phenyl-1H-indazole has also been shown to inhibit the growth of Candida glabrata, which is a fungus that causes candidiasis, and can be used for the treatment of inflammatory diseases. This organometallic compound binds to fatty acids and light emission from this reaction is believed to contribute to its anti-inflammatory effects. 3-Phenyl-1H-indazole has also been shown to inhibit the proliferation of lymphocytes and leukemic cells in vitro, as well as having cytotoxic effects on various cancer cell lines.
