Product Information
6-Methoxynaphthalen-2-amine is an oxime that is used as a reagent in organic synthesis. It can be obtained by the transformation of 6-methoxynaphthalene into 2-aminoacetanilide, which then undergoes acetylation and hydrolysis to form the desired product. The amination of 6-methoxynaphthalen-2-amine is catalyzed by γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA), which forms a bond with the amino group of the molecule. This bond cleaves, forming a new bond between the amine and a hydrogen atom from GABA.
