4-(Trimethylsilyl)phenol is a methacrylate that has been used as an analog of phenoxy, which is used in the production of polymers. 4-(Trimethylsilyl)phenol has been shown to be a nucleophilic and reactive molecule. It has high metabolic rate, which can be seen by its exudates. This compound is not toxic to cells and shows minimal toxicity in animal models. 4-(Trimethylsilyl)phenol also reacts with chlorine atom or silicon, forming polynuclear compounds or oxidation products. These reactions have been shown to induce leukocyte recruitment and promote wound healing.
