2-Isopropylidenemalononitrile is a homologous organic compound that contains two identical molecules. 2-Isopropylidenemalononitrile has been shown to inhibit the activity of soluble guanylate cyclase, which is involved in the regulation of cellular levels of cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP). This inhibition may lead to increased blood pressure levels and decreased production of nitric oxide.
