Description

N-(2,4,6-Trichlorophenyl)maleimide is an organic solvent that has been shown to be synergistic with other solvents. It is biodegradable and can be used in coatings for its water repellent properties. The chemical is also used as a reactant in the synthesis of polymers and plastics. N-(2,4,6-Trichlorophenyl)maleimide is used in the production of benzoates and other organic compounds. This chemical reacts with aluminium to produce a black coating that can protect against corrosion and wear. It can also be used to produce calcium carbonate by reacting with deionized water or aluminium particles in the presence of an inorganic acid such as hydrochloric acid or sulphuric acid.
