4-Methylthioquinazoline is a diazine compound that is structurally similar to the cinnoline group. 4-Methylthioquinazoline has shown antifertility activity in male rats at doses of 10 and 20 mg/kg, and in female rats at doses of 10 and 50 mg/kg. The mechanism of this effect is unknown, but may be due to its ability to form hydrogen bonds with the DNA bases. 4-Methylthioquinazoline has also been found to have antitumor properties, but its specific mechanism is not yet known.
