Description:
2-Propylbenzene-1,3-diol (2PB) is a divalent chemical that is used as an additive in polyester and polycarbonate plastics. It has a chromophore and can be used as a particle for colouring products. 2PB has shown resistance to hydrocarbons and is often used to create resistant surfaces on polyethylene terephthalate (PET). 2PB reacts with chlorine to form the cationic polymer chlorinated 2PB. This product has a high molecular weight, which can be processed into films or fibers. The diameter of this product is typically between 1-5 microns.
