Description:
3-Methylbutyl acetamide is an amide that has been shown to have insecticidal properties. It has been found in the venoms of Polistes and Diptera insects, as well as in the bioassay conducted on hornets. 3-Methylbutyl acetamide is also found in fatty acid esters that are kleptoparasitic, such as annonacin. This compound has been shown to be a cuticle attractant for the murine leukemia virus and isomers of 3-methylbutyl acetamide have been found to be active against cancer cells.
