Telluric acid dihydrate (TAD) is a catalyst that is used in oxidation reactions. It has been shown to be an excellent catalyst for the oxidation of water vapor and hydrogen. TAD has a carboxylic acid complex with molybdenum, which is stable in acidic or neutral environments. This compound also has a phase transition temperature of about -2°C, which makes it suitable for use as a catalyst at low temperatures. TAD can also be used as a catalyst for the conversion of hydrocarbons. Telluric acid dihydrate may have anti-inflammatory properties due to its ability to inhibit Toll-like receptor 4 signaling pathways and prevent the production of inflammatory cytokines such as IL-1β, IL-6, and IL-8.
