Product Information
- 9-ethynyl-9H-fluoren-9-ol
9-Ethynyl-9-fluorenol (9EF) is an organometallic compound that is soluble in chlorobenzene. 9EF fluoresces with a maximum emission wavelength of 510 nm when excited at 300 nm. It has been used in the synthesis of polyaromatic compounds and as a polymerization initiator. 9EF has antiviral properties and has been shown to inhibit protein synthesis, RNA synthesis, and DNA replication. The chemical structure of 9EF consists of two fused benzene rings, which are joined by two ethynyl groups on opposite sides. The molecule itself is planar with a dihedral angle of 65° and a C-F bond length of 1.41 Å. X-ray diffraction data for 9EF has been obtained using crystals grown from chlorobenzene solution at room temperature, yielding space group P2/c with unit cell dimensions of a=8.5 Å, b=8.5 Å, c
