4-Aacetamido-2,5-dimethylbenzene-1-sulfonyl chloride is an adrenergic receptor agonist. It has been shown to bind to the alpha2A receptors and activate them in vitro. The compound was found to be an effective treatment for influenza virus infection in mice. This drug also has anti-inflammatory properties by inhibiting the production of inflammatory cytokines. 4-Aacetamido-2,5-dimethylbenzene-1-sulfonyl chloride has been shown to have a protective effect against bowel disease, such as ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease. It also inhibits human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) replication and may help with symptoms of autoimmune diseases such as ischemic reperfusion injury or avian influenza. It also has anti-inflammatory properties that are beneficial for treating fatty acid oxidation disorders, infectious diseases, and inflammatory bowel diseases.
