Product Information
4-Cyclohexylpyridine (4CP) is a synthetic compound that has been shown to act as an antioxidant. The radical mechanism of 4CP suggests that it is an electron donor, which can be observed by the reaction products generated when irradiated with UV light. 4CP has also been shown to inhibit pyridinium and pyridazine formation in the presence of quaternary ammonium salts and cyclohexanol. It is important to note that there are two isomers for 4CP: n-oxide and pyridazine. The n-oxide form of 4CP has been shown to be more potent than the pyridazine form at inhibiting butyrylcholinesterase, which is involved in the metabolism of acetylcholine.
