Product Information
- 3-Quinolinecarboxaldehyde, 6-Methoxy-
6-Methoxyquinoline-3-carboxaldehyde is a polyphosphoric acid that has been used as an intermediate in the synthesis of polyphosphoric esters. 6-Methoxyquinoline-3-carboxaldehyde is prepared by the cyclization of pyridines and acetanilide with polyphosphoric acid. It is also used as a reagent in the synthesis of quinolines. 6-Methoxyquinoline-3-carboxaldehyde can be synthesized from phosphoryl chloride and methylamine or from chloroacetophenone and phenylmagnesium bromide. The reaction between 2,4,6-trichlorobenzene and methylamine yields the desired product.
