Description:
Trisodium phosphite is a white, crystalline powder. It is an inorganic compound that has been used as a stabilizer in the manufacture of fatty acids and acid-treated animal and vegetable oils. Trisodium phosphite also acts as an antioxidant for polyester resins and is used to manufacture copper complexes. Trisodium phosphite reacts with other substances to produce condensation products, such as calcium carbonate, which can be used in the production of glassware. Other applications include its use as a flame retardant for polyester fibers and as an additive for industrial chemical processes where there is high risk of hydrogen gas formation.
