Gallium sulfate is a crystalline solid that can be prepared by dissolving anhydrous sulfuric acid in water. It is usually used as an adsorbent, catalyst, and inorganic pigment. Gallium sulfate is also used to produce gallium metal and as a source of sulfur for the preparation of sulfuric acid. Gallium sulfate has been shown to have low-temperature properties that make it useful in photovoltaic devices and solar cells. It has been shown to be effective in both synthetic and natural crystals, which are mainly composed of gallium arsenide (GaAs).
