Description:
3,5-Dimethyl-1-(4-nitrophenyl)-1H-pyrazole (3,5-DMPP) is a monocrystalline material that is deuterated. It has been shown to exhibit translationally invariant properties when irradiated with neutrons in the presence of benzene. This characteristic can be used to detect the presence of benzene vapors in an environment. 3,5-DMPP has also been shown to be a pyrazole derivative with optical activity and a shift that can be measured by applying it to a dihedral trackable. The shift was found to range from 0.012 cm−1 for 3,5-DMPP to 0.026 cm−1 for deuterated 3,5-DMPP at 488 nm. The wavelength of 3,5-DMPP is longer than that of benzene and deuterated 3,5-DMPP at 488 nm
