This herbicide has been shown to be effective against dicotyledonous plants but not monocotyledons. 1H-1,2,4-Triazole-3-sulfonic acid is used as a selective herbicide for crops such as soybeans and cotton fields. It is also used on lawns and golf courses to control broadleaf weeds such as clover and ragweed. The patent number is US 4,859,739 B2.
