Tetraammineplatinum (II) chloride hydrate is a diffraction, conductive, and x-ray analysis, fluorescence, fluorescence spectrometry, microstructure, electron microscope, chemical composition, and ultrasonic analysis material. It has an average particle size of 1.0 microns and is insoluble in water. Tetraammineplatinum (II) chloride hydrate is used as a catalyst for cellulose oxidation and the production of chloroform from hydrocarbons. The compound also exhibits high thermal stability and can be used as an oxide catalyst for the manufacture of aluminum oxide or silicon dioxide. Tetraammineplatinum (II) chloride hydrate can be used in microscopy studies of cellulose fibers with a light microscope or electron microscope.
