Terphenyl-2,5-dicarboxylic acid is a substance that belongs to the class of catalysts. It is a dehydrogenated form of 1,1'-Bis(4-carboxyphenyl)ethane. Terphenyl-2,5-dicarboxylic acid is an alkylation catalyst with high activity and selectivity for cyclohexanol over cyclohexene. The use of this catalyst can be used to produce polyesters in liquid phase at temperatures above 500°C.
